Aniko Kiezel was born in Baja, Hungary during the Communist years from where her family escaped to Belgium, then Canada and finally to Northern California.
She began her career in graphics, photography and production in Sacramento before moving to Los Angeles, where she ultimately lived over 30 years.
In LA she initially worked as a print producer before joining Paramount Studios where she worked on over 60 films, overseeing illustrations, photography, and graphics, as well as produced posters for all printed media.
Other career activities included freelance work, handling print production for a book on illustrations and photography, marketing and advertising.  In recent years Aniko chose to return to Sacramento and singularly dedicate herself to photography.
She possesses a wondrous passion for art, architecture, travel and people and uses that passion as an inspiration for her photography. She shoots who or what pleases her -- things that are often overlooked, and then adds her slant and perspective. Her darkroom is now a digital one and the creative possibilities have become endless.

Daniel Schoorl was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1957
and currently lives in Sacramento with his wife,
photographer Deborah Rhea. His study and work in various
media have been a life-long passion and include oil paintings,
drawings and assemblages. Since the early 90’s Daniel has
successfully exhibited in various venues in the U.S. and Uruguay.

The Tango Series
My tango series started after my father passed away in 2009  and the drawings are homage to his memory.
Together we listened to and enjoyed tango music for many years. This Series depicts the characters that live in the tango songs. Theirs are the tales of love and tragedy in the rough and tumble cities of Montevideo and Buenos Aires during the early years of the 20th century.
The tango was first played in the ports and low dives, where sailors and workingmen would look for drink, women and good times. Immigrants from Spain, Italy and other parts contributed to tango’s urban scene on “el Rio de la Plata”, the river that flows between Uruguay and Argentina.
The original tango generation of musicians, singers, composers and dancers were united in their passion for the music and it soon became a craze. In Paris of the 1920’s Gardel, Canaro, DiCaro among others were much admired and celebrated.
My wish is that you enjoy these tango drawings as much as I enjoyed creating them.                                                                 —Daniel Schoorl
